WODE is an optical drive emulator and solderless modchip rolled into one. It can run homebrew type applications without the need to install the homebrew channel on your Wii. This means that it can never be blocked by nintendo updates! The WODE comes in two parts. The first part goes inside your Wii, just like traditional solderless modchips and attaches to the dvd drive board. The second part is an external base/docking station for you Wii. Built into this is a slave pcb with and lcd screen, usb and sd connections. The WODE runs on a flexible and powerful Linux kernel, allowing the possibility for hundreds of exciting new applications. The possibilities are endless.

The invention of Wode was inspired by Audi A5! The system of Audi MMI Navigation Plus allows you to insert a CD and transfer any audio to HDD, preserving the original audio CD and reading the content instead copied on Hard Disk without further problems. The Wode team wondered if AUDI distributed its own MMI system which allowed you to legally copy any audio disc onto HDD, could they invent a similar system to backup Wii games to a HDD and play the games from the HDD directly? With that noble idea, the Wode team came together in 2008 and started putting a lot of hard work on it.

WODE is based in Linux. Furthermore, WODE is legal. To quote the Wode team, “Wode allows you to take the most of your playground without BYPASSING DRM PROTECTION, it emulates in every way a DVD player including the DRM function which is not being bypassed in anyway!  Unlike VIDEOGAMES WODE behaves differently, WODE is a bridge interface between the data bus for WII DVD DRIVE and LINUX nothing more.”

Note: Works on all version Wii drives, but will not play dvd backups on the D3-2, only ISO backups. DVD backups will work on all other versions.

A: Yes. WODE consists of an optical drive emulator and a solderless modchip . You can disable the “flatmod” version and keep using your modchip.

A: Yes, it should. It is recommended that you replace the existing solderless with the one came with the Wode.

Q: If I preorder WODE, will my card be charged right away?
